Westgate Corporation

Hi,
Does anyone have good/bad information on working for Westgate Corporation in Japan?
here's a little something:
You cannot get consecutive contracts with westgate.
Depending on your performance, salary may be increased after the completion of each term in the Westgate Program
Here is some more info:
1. There is a 2 month interval between Westgate contracts. You are not paid during this time and you can not live in Westgate accomodation during the interval. that is what is meant by 'non-consecutive. You can teach more than one but you don't get paid in the interim.
2. Westgate is an outsourcing company in which you work for a proivate company on university campuses. You are teaching university students but it is not like teaching university classes. Classes have for instance 30-50 students in them. you may have to write progress reports on students- the more flowery and positive the better for your own evaluations.
3. my only advice (without being the prophet of doom here) is to get a Masters degree, start working part time at a university (not through a dispatch like Westgate, unless you happen to meet some university teachers) and then start networking and building up your resume. Get experience teaching as much as you can.
Hi Ross,
Thanks for the valuable info.
So do you know what the class size is then?
Ok i put that in the message to you i see you missed that part so here it is again, Classes have for instance 30-50 students in them. you may have to write progress reports on students plus lesson plans in some cases.
Hi Ross,
Thanks for the reply.
I had read your initial message but misunderstood.
Cheers,
