I've been teaching in Phnom Penh the last three winters and returning to Canada during the summer. Schools here are desperate for native English speakers. 70% of the population is under 30 and there's a baby boom all over this part of S.E. Asia.
All levels but especially primary schools are offering one year contracts. Tesol certificates are greatly appreciated so if you've done a course let me know. My school has asked us (the teachers) to help find more teachers. Let me know if you're interested. William...my email is willgeorgem@yahoo.com
At what time during the year do the contracts begin? I'm interested, if you could link me with some more specific information about your school, I would appreciate it. I just finished a TESOL certificate and also have a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature.
Thanks,
Morgana

the new term begins feb 2 so you can likely get something starting right away. this is a short year I guess, because they've been renovating the school for the month of january. all the private schools here work according to their own schedules. this school has been established for 12 years and has a good reputation but more and more schools are opening all the time so lots of imitation and competition. there's a baby boom all over s.e. asia. many schools teach english, chinese, math and science as the core subjects. there is a heavy chinese influence here but people also want their children to be able to speak english and are putting them in schools at a very young age. if you want to send your c.v. to the principal get back to me. my email address is willgeorgem@yahoo.com
