Hey all, I'm going to be taking my basic TESOL in August and I was wondering if anybody has any advice on how to prepare for it? What do you wish you had known before you went? And should I bring anything in particular (supplies or otherwise)?

Thanks!
Just you, your sense of humor and adventure
Just open your mind and bring your creativity...
I learned SOO much in a short time including contract negotiation ,how to spot a scam and that there are alot of excellant people out there who are just waiting to help someone who needs it...an open mind can absorb so much extra new material which there is...and when I needed help there were people who are willing to stop and assist
Unfortunately I was one of a group of people who were scammed about a Middle Eastern job well I learned! I learnt how to read a job advertisement!Read them with your head calm not all ecited about finding the one Middle Esatern job that SEEMS to fit your profile...
Thanks guys, I'm really excited about this!
Before you start, it is a good idea to have in mind a couple of countries where you want to go then as you pursue the course, focus on those places. Ask questions regarding the possibilities and use the Employment Handbook (you'll be given one as part of the tuition you paid) and do some research. As a teacher, I enjoy teaching enthusiastic learners and they keep me going. There is no shortage of such learners as the Orientals; Chinese, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Japanese, etc. Also, be ready to choose your "specialization course" to be taken online after the classroom sessions end. Be very sure the specialization course you choose will benefit you the most in the country of your choice.
