Hello. I've just obtained my first EFL teaching job here in Medellín, Colombia. I have the GTC Advanced TESOL Diploma. I'm going to work for British Alliance, a very well established company here in Colombia and elsewhere. I showed my diploma and all the individual certificates to the hiring manager, and he was very impressed. I will be traveling to the location of several different companies that BA has contracts with, and conducting English lessons for the employees. The starting pay is only 16000 pesos per hour, or about $8.50, but that is good here, being about six and a half times the minimum wage. They also pay all my transportation costs (buses and/or cabs) for traveling from one company location to the next. Thanks, GTC, for helping me get my foot in the door.
