I was just wondering If there are any chat rooms for esl teachers/students. I would just like to talk to someone in real time and see about their experiences are while teaching.

Thanks and TtyL

Not sure but I would not mind knowing that also.

Question from the TESOL Workbook of 2009 on page 53.

There was a question in the Linquistics section from the workbook, and it said "What is proper English?"

I do not remember seeing a section on that. I must have been very tired when I read it. I have skimmed over that section again in my 2009 manual but still have not located it.

Can anyone let me know if you found the information in regards to "What is proper English?".

If you know where that paragraph is in the manual I would appreciate knowing where it is...what page in the manual.

Thanks for your help.

Maybe that is what TESOL it's self should do create a chat room so their graduates can talk to each other and tell about their experiences, where they are teaching, passing or sharing idea's, come on TESOL get with it
I totally agree that we need to have a live chat area where we can compare notes with those who have successfully completed the course and have a teaching position.

It would also be very beneficial to be able to ask a question such as Patricia asked about in the Linguistics section of the 2009 page 53 workbook from others.

Unless I am incorrect teachers share knowledge together and we all help each other with day to day teaching issues so why not online?

It would be so much more appropriate to have a chat area on here compared to msn or yahoo.

Just my thoughts!

I graduated from Global Tesol in 2003 and have been teaching in China ever since. I'd be happy to share stories with people, answer questions people have and read about new and fresh ideas from recent graduates. The Chat room idea sounds good to me.
Thank you Margaret Ann! Please stay tuned as the chat will be ready soon. Appreciate your offer to participate.
Oh by the way I was given an answer to the question re: "What is Proper English?" I just emailed the college and they got back to me. It was Joel actually. I think this is a great idea. I am not a graduate yet...I am waiting for the rest of the changes going on and then I will study online a llittle more then do the exam. I will have to arrange to get a "practicum" done. And then I am on my way to applying for positions overseas. I would so appreciate talking to people who are already experiencing teaching overseas. I know of one person who taught in China in 2004 and she loved it. She would go again but her daughter has cancer right now. Thanks Joel.
HI, I'm new to TESOL, and I am having problems starting my course online. Anyone have any seggestions?
