Does anyone know how the Taoyuan school in Taoyuan is for teaching?

Sorry, I don't know about this school, but I can give you some tips to help you decide if it truly is a good school.

1. Talk to e-mail at least 3 teachers that currently work there. Make sure they have been there at least 6 months. They never lie!

2. Make sure the school has been open for at least 5 years.

3. Send your contract to an instructor to look over before you sign.

4. Find out about the director and/or the head teacher. They are going to be looking after you, so it helps to know that they have experience in teaching.

Good luck!

I spent 14 months in Taiwan (Keelung). I would never return. Taiwan, as a whole... and outside of the central part of Taipei..... is the most foreigner unfriendly country I have been to (out of 30+).

If you do not already speak Mandarin, do not go.

That said. Taoyuan is near the airport and flights are cheap to the rest of Asia.
Hey! I spent 1 year teaching in China and it was a BLAST! I knew no mandarin before I went, but you learn more than enough by being immersed in it. Dont let the language barrier slow you down! Its a challenge but it is totally fun too.
Taiwan is no China.
